Brent Stranathan at SF State

Brent Stranathan, vice president for broadcast distribution at CBS-TV, speaks with students last month while visiting SF State to deliver the inaugural lecture of the Peter & Rosemary Casey Fellows Program.

From the Foundation President

On September 28, Foundation Director and CBS Executive Brent Stranathan (B.A., '75) delivered the inaugural lecture of the Peter & Rosemary Casey Fellows Program, an initiative of the College of Liberal & Creative Arts and the Broadcast & Electronic Communications Department. This highly-anticipated event provided students an opportunity to learn and benefit from Brent's insight and experience gleaned from a 30-year career in the broadcast industry while allowing Brent the unique opportunity to spend two days on campus interacting with SF State students and faculty. For all involved, this was an exceptional experience, now artfully encapsulated in a 5-minute video.

Each of our Foundation directors lends his or her own talents and expertise to help further the educational mission of San Francisco State University. When these talents intersect with our students' eagerness to learn, the real magic happens. The curiosity and enthusiasm our students display can be infectious and energizing, while the knowledge and perspectives our directors share with them lead to new ideas and inspiration. I look forward to many such opportunities as together we take San Francisco State University to new levels of excellence.
