Manny Mashouf Endows Marketing Scholarship

Business Building at SF State

Manny Mashouf, one of SF State’s most accomplished alumni, made a generous contribution to his alma mater in December 2015 to endow a scholarship for students in marketing. The $95,000 gift will allow the College of Business to award annual scholarships to undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and to graduate students pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in marketing. In order to qualify for the scholarships, students must demonstrate a commitment to volunteer work reflecting their interest in marketing either on the SF State campus or in the community.

“Manny Mashouf is a visionary who knows first-hand how the right education, along with determination and hard work, can lead to success in life,” said SF State Foundation President Robert J. Nava about this gift. “His most recent generous gift to the University clears a path to success for business students for years to come.”

Mr. Mashouf, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from SF State in 1966, is founder and chairman of the board of bebe stores, inc., a company that started as a single boutique on Polk Street and now operates more than 200 stores worldwide and online. Among his previous support of the University was a lead gift supporting the construction of the Mashouf Wellness Center, a state-of-the-art recreational complex scheduled for completion in 2017.
